A Guide to Home Water Purifiers and Filters

If you're like me, you probably think that you don't need a home water purifier and filter. I used to think that. Then I started doing some research into the quality of the water I was drinking (both tap and bottled water). Believe me, I changed my mind fast!

It's completely shocking what's actually in our water supply!

Let me tell you a little of what I found out.

There's quite a bit more in our water than just good old "H2O"!

Some of what's in our water besides the water itself, is good for us. A lot of it is very, very bad for us.

We live in a world that's made possible by over 80,000 synthetic chemical compounds. Where do these powerful chemicals go once they're used? That's right! Into your water supply.

The food we grow is made possible by pesticides. Our longevity and quality of life is made possible by prescription drugs. High-tech devices like our computers are made possible by a whole host of very toxic chemicals, like silicon.

The problem is, these chemicals end up in our water supply and we end up ingesting them! Would you go down into your basement or out to your garage, pick up that bottle of pesticide, and squirt it into your mouth? I don't think so!

Chances are you're doing just that when you drink tap water from the water supply of virtually any American city!

A study of 29 American cities was done recently that found out these cities' water supplies all had traces of at least one pesticide in them. Many of them had two, three, or more!

The same thing is true for prescription drugs. Traces of a number of high-powered prescription drugs are routinely found in our water supplies. Some scientists think that the growth of drug-resistant strains of bacteria can be linked to the fact that we're all becoming immune to the effects of antibiotics. A world where antibiotics don't work would be scary, indeed!

At this point, I bet you're thinking just what I did--if tap water is so bad, then I'll just stick to bottled water.

Sounds like a great idea. Unfortunately, there's less restriction on the impurities allowed in bottled water than there is in tap water.

Bottled water companies spend billions each year trying to convince us that their water comes from some deep, pure underground aquifer, when it actually comes straight out of the tap--just like your water at home!

What's more, if the bottled water you drink has not been transported across state lines, there are absolutely no federal regulations that cover it--none!

So what's the answer?

There's just one answer--home water purifiers and filters. To protect your health and the health of your family, you absolutely have to start filtering your water at home.

Why You Need a Home Water Purifier

I'll be honest with you. I used to think having a home water purifier was a luxury, or at least not completely necessary. Then I started doing some research into the purity of our water supply. All I can say is "Wow!"

Needless to say, I changed my mind completely. Now, I think that having a home water purifier system is not just a good idea--it's an absolute necessity.

Here's what I found out that so completely shocked me about the quality of the water I was drinking.

The first thing I leaned was that there is a lot more flowing out of our taps than just plain old "H2O". Good water is not only just pure water, from a chemical point of view, but it has a number of trace minerals in it. These trace minerals not only make the water taste great, but they are absolutely necessary for our good health.

Take calcium, for instance. Calcium is found in trace amounts naturally in our water. We need that calcium for the proper functioning of our bodies. So much so, that if we don't get it, our bodies will start leaching calcium from our own bones in order to supply itself with the calcium it needs.

That was, in some sense, the good news. Now for the bad news.

The number of toxins and even organic pathogens found routinely in our tap water is completely astounding.

Your tap water is very likely to have traces of at least one pesticide in it. Studies have been done of larger American cities where they found not one, not two, but three or more pesticides in the water supply!

The problem does not stop there. Traces of prescription drugs have been showing up more and more in our water supply! Some scientists think one of the reasons we have a growing problem with drug-resistant bacteria is we're ingesting antibiotics through our food and water.

Another issue that caught my attention was the fact that most of the water filtration systems in America are about one hundred years old. I thought water filtration was some sort of complex, high-tech process. It's not! All most water treatment plants do is filter the water through some sort of sediment bed, then add in a little chlorine.

The sediment filtration gets out particulate matter. The chlorine kills the bacteria. Unfortunately, there are a couple of problems with this.

Filtration can't filter out a lot of toxins, such as PCP's and lead. Also, chlorine is actually a poison! (It was used as a weapon of mass destruction in World War I!)

Bottom line is our tap water contains a lot of ingredients you don't want to drink. So, why a home water purifier? Why not just bottled water?

Once again, I was appalled by what I found out.

Bottled water is no safer than tap water! Actually virtually all bottled water is just tap water that been bottled. You know those labels that show high mountain glaciers and pristine springs? That's virtually all bogus. The water in that bottle no more came from an unexplored deep aquifer than the water running out of my tap did!

Surprisingly, bottled water has fewer restrictions on it than tap water!

Water is not just a central component, but perhaps the central component of our health. Our bodies are 70% water. (Your liver is 96% water!) Not only do we need water to live, but we need pure water with the trace minerals left in and the toxins taken out. A home water purifier system is the only way to get the quality of water you need for optimum health.

A Guide to Home Water Purifiers

I used to think that home water purifiers were a luxury, or at best unnecessary! Boy, was I wrong! When I started to really look into what was in the water I was drinking, I was completely shocked!

I quickly came to the conclusion I needed a water purifier, and I needed one fast. The only problem was I didn't know much about them. I had no idea how to compare home water purifiers to find the best type for me and my family. So, I did a lot more research about the various kinds of these devices that there were. Let me give you a brief summary of what I found out.

There's quite a bit more in the water we drink other than pure "H2o"! Some of it is good, a lot of it is very, very bad for our health.

Our bodies are 70% water. What's more is water is completely necessary to most of the chemical processes that go on inside of us. For instance, your liver is 96% water. So, obviously we need plenty of water to survive and thrive.

We also need more than just the water itself. Humans were designed (or evolved) to drink plenty of pure water with trace minerals in it. Take the mineral calcium, for instance. We need that in trace amounts! If we don't get that, then our bodies will steal it from our bones! No wonder diseases and conditions like osteoporosis are becoming more prevalent.

Unfortunately, in addition to just the water and the trace minerals that we need for optimum health, our water also contains a ton of ingredients, both organic and inorganic, that are detrimental to our well being.

It's highly likely that your tap water has traces of at least one pesticide in it! It also probably has lead and a number of bacterial and viruses--even though it's been sterilized!

Cysts are dormant microorganisms that are not completely killed by sterilization and which wreak havoc when they get inside of us. Anyone who has ever had a bout of Giardia can attest to this.

Not only that, but the sterilization process itself leaves a residue of chlorine in our water. Chlorine gas was used in World War I as a weapon of mass destruction!

In case you're thinking bottled water is the answer to this problem, think again! Bottled water is no better for us than tap water. As a matter of fact, there are fewer restrictions on the quality of bottled water than tap water.

So, what's the solution?

A home water purifier is the solution! If you haven't considered a home water purifier, then now is the time. Get on the Internet and start researching this stuff for yourself. Compare home water purifiers! Find the right one for you, then buy it!
